Oregon Urology Institute seeks a per diem X Ray Technologist to support the Imaging team!

Oregon Urology Institute is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. Oregon Urology Institute provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies such as robotic surgery, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy. The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for completing X Ray procedures as part of the patient's care plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  2. Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  3. Prepares contrast media and barium.
  4. Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  5. Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  6. Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
EDUCATION
  1. Graduate of accredited X-ray technology program.
EXPERIENCE
  1. Previous demonstrated experience as a X-Ray Technologist.
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Current Basic Life Support certification required.
  2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration.
  3. OBMI licensure in radiologic technology.
KNOWLEDGE
  1. Knowledge of x-ray procedures and protocols.
  2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray procedures including body mechanics and patient movement.
  3. Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
SKILLS
  1. Skill in positioning patients properly.
  2. Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
ABILITIES
  1. Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  2. Ability to communicate clearly.
  3. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and families.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Exam and treatment rooms.
  2. Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases and other conditions common to radiology setting.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
  1. Standing 4-6 hours/day, walking, stooping and bending.
  2. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.
  3. Occasional stress in working with tense patients.

Oregon Urology Institute is a private multi-specialty practice with no nights or weekends. This is a per diem position and shifts will vary as patient volume dictates.
