Job summary

Exer Urgent Care is seeking an X-Ray Technician/MA to assist in examinations and patient treatment under physician direction. You’ll interact with patients, prepare rooms, operate x-ray and EKG equipment, and perform injections and routine labs.

The role requires a California X-ray permit (limited permit acceptable), CPT I certification, and experience with vital signs and injections. Strong communication, neat appearance, and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current limited X-Ray permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal- to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal) is required
• CPT I certification
• Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet
• Neat and professional appearance
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
• Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
• Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
