Job summary

Exer Urgent Care is seeking an X-Ray Technician/MA to assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the supervision of a Physician. The ideal candidate will hold a current limited X-Ray permit and demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills.

The role involves interviewing patients, operating diagnostic equipment, and preparing treatment rooms in a clinical setting. A vocational certificate in Medical Assistant and experience with blood draws and EKGs are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current limited X-Ray permit issued by the California Department of Public Health.
  • CPT I certification is required.
  • Experience with EKGs, blood draws, vital signs, and IM injections is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients and records vital signs.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for patient examination.
  • Operates x-ray and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.

Job description

Job Title: X-Ray Technician/MA

Reports to: Center Manager

Summary

The X-Ray Technician/MA will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician.

Major Responsibilities
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
  • Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
  • Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
  • Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Qualifications
  • Current limited X-Ray permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal- to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal) is required.
  • CPT I certification.
  • Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant.
Working Conditions

Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Travel – up to 5%.
