The role balances radiologic duties with MA tasks to maintain efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate has Texas LMRT certification, MA credentials or experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Up-to-date Texas LMRT certification preferred.
  • Current radiologic procedures certification/registration required.
  • Medical Assistant education, certification, or outpatient experience preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience in primary/urgent/immediate care or fast-paced outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant

Victory Medical is seeking an organized, highly motivated individual to join our team as an X-ray Technician and Medical Assistant to work at both our Austin and Westlake locations. You must have experience working as an x-ray technician, have an up-to-date state certification and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment. You will perform other duties as determined by our Providers and clinic management. The schedule will include at least one rotating weekend a month. Full-time employees can expect to be paid holidays and accrue paid time off. We are seeking a dependable, patient-focused X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care and Immediate Care team. This position combines radiologic imaging responsibilities with Medical Assistant duties to support efficient patient flow and provide high-quality patient care in a busy outpatient clinical environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Radiology
  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations within the individual's authorized scope of practice and in accordance with applicable Texas radiation rules, regulations, and clinic policies.
  • Verify patient identity, examination ordered, and appropriate clinical information prior to performing imaging.
  • Position patients appropriately and obtain diagnostic-quality images while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
  • Follow radiation safety practices and use appropriate protective measures.
  • Maintain X-ray rooms, equipment, supplies, and required documentation in a clean, organized, and inspection-ready condition.
  • Perform required quality assurance and quality control activities within the scope of the position.
  • Participate in required radiology documentation, logs, checklists, equipment monitoring, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Promptly report equipment concerns, safety issues, or other problems that could affect patient care or regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, safety requirements, environmental standards, and infection-control practices.
Medical Assistant & Patient Care
  • Room patients and obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical histories, medication information, allergies, and other required clinical information.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Observe patients and promptly communicate changes in a patient's condition or other clinical concerns to the provider on duty.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and other patient-care activities under appropriate supervision.
  • Perform clinical procedures and point-of-care testing within training, competency, authorized scope, and clinic protocols.
  • Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and other diagnostic procedures as assigned and appropriately trained.
  • Administer medications, injections, or immunizations when authorized, appropriately trained, and permitted by clinic policy and applicable requirements.
  • Follow and comply with approved standing orders, clinical protocols, and provider instructions.
  • Accurately document patient-care activities in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with patient discharge, including provider-directed instructions and follow-up information.
  • Support efficient patient flow throughout both Primary Care and Immediate Care.
  • Respond appropriately to changing patient volumes and assist other clinical team members as needed.
Clinical Operations & Compliance
  • Complete daily clinical and radiology checklists and all assigned tasks necessary to maintain compliance with applicable federal and state requirements and clinic policies.
  • Keep examination rooms, X-ray areas, and clinical supplies appropriately stocked and organized.
  • Clean and prepare examination and procedure rooms between patients according to infection-control standards.
  • Launder and maintain an adequate supply of patient gowns.
  • Monitor clinical supplies and notify appropriate staff when items need to be reordered.
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, safety, and other applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in required education, training programs, competency assessments, and staff meetings.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and other daily clinic responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, helpful, and friendly demeanor when interacting with patients, families, providers, and coworkers.
  • Work collaboratively with providers and other clinical staff to promote efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by clinic management.
Qualifications
  • Current Texas LMRT certification preferred.
  • Current certification/registration and continuing education as required for the radiologic procedures performed.
  • Medical Assistant education, certification, or previous outpatient clinical experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience in primary care, urgent care, immediate care, or another fast-paced outpatient setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology, infection-control practices, and patient-care procedures.
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires frequent interaction with patients and clinical staff and involves standing and walking for extended periods, positioning patients for radiologic examinations, assisting with patient care, and performing other physical activities customary in an outpatient Primary Care and Immediate Care environment.
