Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky seeks a CT Technologist for PRN 1st shift to perform CT examinations from birth to death, ensuring patient safety and accurate imaging. You will coordinate patient flow, supervise room operations, and assist physicians during procedures under the guidance of leadership in Radiology.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration or eligibility, KY Radiation Operators Certification, CT experience, and BLS.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.
  • CT experience and CT registry preferred.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CAT scan examinations on patients ranging from birth to death.
  • Coordinates patient flow and operates the CT scanner safely.
  • Supervises CT room staff and provides direction to assigned personnel.
  • Assists physicians with procedures and biopsies.
  • Maintains equipment, restocks supplies, and performs record keeping.
  • Takes night and weekend call and adheres to radiation safety practices.

Imaging - Computed Tomography Technologist - CT Technologist
PRN - 1st SHIFT

While Radiology and Ultrasound are both imaging departments within the hospital, they utilize different technologies and serve distinct diagnostic purposes. The Radiology department encompasses a broad range of imaging techniques that use different forms of radiation or electromagnetic waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. Job Description:

Perform CAT scan examinations on patients in age from birth to death. Coordinates patient flow as well as other activities involving the CT scanner. Supervises the operation of the CT scan room as well as providing direction for other personnel assigned to that area. CT Technologist works under the direction of the Director as well as the Vice President of Ancillary Personnel.

  • Performs and administers contrast material for examinations.
  • Operates and prepares CT equipment in safe and correct manner.
  • Must participate in CQI activities and provide input for improvement.
  • Assists physicians with procedures.
  • Assists patients during examinations and biopsies.
  • Communicates with nurses and physicians regarding patient care, provides directions to staff and patients. Maintains good repose with staff, physicians and patients.
  • Replenishes supplies in the CT area.
  • Performs necessary record keeping for procedures, which includes but is not limited to backing up exams, obtaining history sheets, and charging exam.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Will transport patients, when necessary, assures proper patient identification by utilizing 2 identifier method.
  • Takes night and weekend call.
  • Is familiar and utilizes all radiation reducing measures. This includes utilizing the pediatric technique supplied on the machine when applicable.
  • Complies with the policies, principles, and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Must pass initial competency test and year competency testing thereafter.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Graduation from accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Must have current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.
  • CT experience and CT registry preferred.
  • BLS Required.
