Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking an X-Ray Operator to perform basic diagnostic imaging in an Urgent Care setting. The role requires traveling to Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills, and working three 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required and completion of an accredited Basic X-ray Machine Operator program is expected.
• Current Florida State License – Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BMO) is required.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Exercises professional judgment in performance of radiology services and maintains a demeanor consistent with quality care.
• Performs basic radiological examinations, including all quality controls and clerical duties.
• Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Positions patient and equipment to obtain high quality images for interpretation.
• Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Ensures equipment is in proper working order and reports malfunctions to the Practice Manager.
• Maintains compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures."

Essential Functions

• Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self and others.
• Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the Practice Manager or leader on duty.
• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
• Conduct basic machine maintenance as necessary
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Maintains reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state

and local standards.

• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education/Training
