Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health in Zephyrhills, FL seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging with strict adherence to MQSA guidelines and radiation safety principles.

The full-time Radiology position requires Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, and emphasizes patient care, image quality, and regulatory compliance within a practices’ Radiology department.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must maintain CME points as mandated by MQSA.
  • Florida state license in radiography.
  • ARRT certification and BLS healthcare provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Positions patient and equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Assesses image quality, annotation, and patient identification per MQSA/ACR guidelines.
  • Adheres to FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements and radiation safety principles.
  • Uses Radiology Information System to document arrival, completion, and coding of exams.
  • Maintains clean, organized work areas and follows Orlando Health policies.

Position Summary: Provides quality patient care when performing mammography imaging services and related procedures by applying x-ray energy to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Qualifications

Essential Functions

  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Complies with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors, to achieve desired high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and ensures that all breast anatomy is demonstrated according to MQSA/ACR guidelines.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Requires utilization of Radiology Information System to accurately show arrival and completion of exams, correct coding of procedures done, and retrieval of reports.
  • Utilizes sterile technique for sterile procedures in accordance with OH policy and training. Administers medical aid as required for any emergency.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state,and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines and education requirements.

Education/Training

  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

  • Valid Florida state license.
  • Valid Radiology registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
