Job summary

Rhode Island Medical Imaging is seeking a Mammography Technologist to assist in providing high-quality imaging services. The role includes performing diagnostic mammograms, preparing for intricate procedures, and maintaining radiation safety procedures.

Job Summary

Rhode Island Medical Imaging is offering a $5,000 sign‑on bonus. This role performs the functions of a Mammography Technologist under the supervision of the Manager, Radiologic Technologists. The Mammography Technologist practices safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM‑4:30 PM at our North Providence, RI clinical site.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Complete patient education regarding the exam and promote patient comfort.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammograms, as ordered.
• Prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
• Produce high‑quality films for the radiologist to evaluate.
• Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
• Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure techniques.

• Continually sets the example of professionalism, flexibility, and high levels of patient care.
• Must possess general knowledge of equipment, equipment location, and vendors.
• Responsible for keeping the site manager informed of any equipment problems.

Experience / Education

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a mammographer.
• Must possess two (2) years of experience in performing mammography QA under the MQSA Standard.
• Must be ARRT registered and a graduate of Radiologic Technology Program.
• TOMO experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.
• May lift/position patients and supplies up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move patients from scanner tables and transport patients in wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
• Ability to crouch, reach, and lift to allow appropriate manipulation positioning and placement of ancillary equipment.
• Will have exposure to high magnetic fields and cannot have any physical condition that would be aggravated by magnetic fields, acoustic noise, and occasional RF exposure.
• Ability to work in Zone 3 and Zone 4.
