Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required.
• Valid CRT certification preferred; CA fluoroscopy license required for certain departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients before x-ray procedures.
• Take and develop x-rays with proper positioning and shielding.
• Process and file films; submit to radiologist for reading.
• Complete paperwork including charge slips and logs.
• Notify nurse or physician of abnormalities in x-ray reports.
• Schedule appointments and order supplies as needed.
• Ensure equipment functions properly and report malfunctions.
• Release films to requesting facilities with proper forms.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist in contrast procedures and basic first aid as necessary.
• Maintain sterile technique and cleanliness of rooms and equipment.
