Job summary

Summit Express Clinics is seeking an experienced Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) with X-Ray to join our Express Clinics. This is a full-time role with 12-hour shifts, in Knoxville.

The CMA/RMA will escort patients, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and EKGs, assist physicians, and handle triage and clerical tasks as part of daily clinic operations. Applicants should hold a CMA or RMA certification (or an LPN TN license) and a TN X-Ray license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, prefer additional vocational or college credits.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification or LPN TN license required.
• State of TN X-Ray license required.
• Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Record vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, height and weight.
• Perform procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc.
• Assist physicians with procedures and provide patient education.
• Handle phone nursing, triage, pre-certs, referrals, and prescriptions as directed.
• Perform clerical duties to support physicians and contact patients about test results.
• Pull and prepare patient records for physicians to treat patients.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage exam room cleanliness.
• Maintain stocked, neat exam rooms and adhere to company policies and HIPAA rules.
• Participate in site-level Quality Improvement activities and other duties as assigned.
