X-Lab Senior Software Developer
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering.
Technical Skill Required:
The X-Lab is a very fast-paced and dynamic environment responsible for developing Mission Data Services software, sensor integration, data reliability, addition of sensors and data, Sensor/Weapon Integration, User Interface Development into the MDS application, and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. The X-Lab seeks a senior-level Software Engineer to assist in full-cycle software development including requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing. The successful candidate must possess a substantial understanding of system software design and development, Java development, Object-Oriented development principles and implementation, Service Oriented Architecture development principles and implementation, and software architecture. Significant experience with Link-16, including content and transmission rules, is required. Candidates should have demonstrable skills including:

The Software Developer must understand software engineering, design, development, and testing of object-oriented code. The candidate will possess 9 or more years of experience in a related engineering environment, with experience and expertise in object-oriented software development and testing. Familiarity and experience with Link-16 is a plus. The ability to analyze high-level needs and refine them into an integrated set of requirements that leads to a fielded product is essential. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are desired. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Proven interaction in a team environment is a must. Previous experience should demonstrate the technical skills and position responsibilities cited here. Ideally, the candidate will have previously worked on IRAD-type projects and be comfortable with rapidly changing requirements, design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines.
Position Responsibilities:
The position is split among two roles. The first is to work as a member of the X-Lab software development team to develop and test innovative solutions in support of X-Lab projects and experiments. The second is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program supporting the development of software on C2BMC Global. The candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language and for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Responsibilities also include maintaining currency, debugging, and configuring related software products, developing CI/CD pipelines, and conducting dynamic and static analysis of the Mission Data Services and associated tools. The candidate will work from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications, assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs. The role involves interfacing with other system support groups to resolve problems, setting standards, and improving overall efficiency of the operating system. The candidate will design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation and may require instruction and guidance.
Other:
Primary work location is the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) at Schriever AFB, CO. Work at COS Hwy 83 may be required. TS/SCI is desired.
