Job description

The Plant Manager has overall accountability for the Wyoming Plant operations including Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance, production, customer satisfaction, financial management, product quality, community outreach, and Responsible Care.

Responsibilities:

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY
  1. Create a culture where EHS performance is embraced as a Core Value
  2. Champion a culture of root cause analysis and preventive actions
  3. Establish an organization with a high level of accountability and ethics
  4. Maintain site policies and procedures with alignment with company policy and standard practices
  5. Daily presence on the plant floor to ensure policies and principles consistently executed through the site
  6. Establish and maintain working relationships with community leaders, state and local organizations, regulatory officials, and other producers to sustain plant operations and support Responsible Care
  7. Direct Responsible Care activities for the site
LEADERSHIP
  1. Develop the strategies and priorities for the department that will best support the business competitive position in the future
  2. Dedicated to a work environment that fosters employee engagement and alignment with Core Values
  3. Direct site strategic planning (e.g., operating review, facility plan, budget) to ensure competitive performance level is achieved and is consistent with strategic initiatives
  4. Develop, communicate and ensure commitment to the business measures/goals required for success
  5. Lead the process for prioritizing and allocating resources to ensure functional responsibilities are effectively and efficiently managed and improved
  6. Support discovery, benchmarking, development and implementation of new systems for the site
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
  1. Establish the expectation/standards, the supportive environment and ensure that resources have the capability to meet standards and performance expectations
  2. Ensure that functional activities are performed at the appropriate levels of the organization and that resources are in place to build capability where skill gaps have been identified
  3. Provide direct reports structured feedback on performance
  4. Coach and mentor team members so that competencies are developed and maintained
  5. Engage the full organization and build a culture of inclusion
OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
  1. Ensure organization processes, systems and structures are operating and focused on the material flow and the results the business must produce
  2. Plan, organize and direct all aspects of plant operation including but not limited to, production resource planning, engineering, materials management, quality of products and capital management
  3. Champion change processes to optimize business performance
  4. Lead Operational Excellence initiatives to maximize plant performance and predictability
  5. Focus on overall performance of support organizations to capture and leverage synergies

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required (Chemical Engineering preferred).

Qualifications:

  1. Strong commitment to EHS as a Core Value
  2. Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a chemical production facility
  3. Customer commitment and ability to connect market needs to shop floor performance
  4. Experience managing a site's financial system to meet budgetary expectations
  5. Possess a firm understanding of the strategic drivers and components for success in a business-to-business environment
  6. Working knowledge of chemical plant processes and systems, management skills, financial systems, engineering processes, and general experience in plant functional areas
  7. Experience in an S&OP process and enterprise planning systems
  8. Management experience in implementing organization-wide initiatives
  9. Experience leading an organization through continuous improvement or other quality initiatives
  10. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 10 years operations leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing facility or related production environment (agrochemical preferred).
  11. SAP experience preferred (S/4 HANA)
