Job summary

Wyoming Game & Fish Department in Cheyenne is seeking a Hunter Education Systems Coordinator to provide technical support and systems coordination for the hunter education program. You will post classes, manage records and materials, and assist volunteers and staff across Wyoming.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work with multiple databases and online tools. Travel within Wyoming is expected and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, typically in Public Relations.
• 0–3 years of progressive work experience, typically in Public Relations, with knowledge at the level of a Public Relations Specialist II; OR 4–6 years of progressive work experience, typically in Public Relations, with knowledge at the level of a Public Relations Specialist II, in substitution for education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and coordination for hunter education volunteers and staff, including posting classes in the online event management system and approving results after classes.
• Facilitate the purchase, inventory, and distribution of hunter education materials to instructors statewide.
• Manage student and instructor records, issue certification cards, evaluate database performance, and address database issues.
• Provide subject-matter expertise and troubleshooting support regarding hunter education requirements, registration, and certification in Wyoming.
• Compile monthly reports for state and federal reporting.
• Manage the hunter education instructor awards program.
• Administer the hunter education temporary exception program, formerly the hunter mentor program.
• Assist with procurement and distribution of materials and curriculum.
