Job summary

TerraPower LLC. in Kemmerer, WY seeks a seasoned Finance Business Partner for the Natrium Project. You will serve as financial liaison between the project team, EPC provider, and corporate finance, ensuring funding alignment with budgets and guiding decision-making.

You will provide independent financial analysis, dashboards, and risk assessments to support investment decisions, funding requests, and governance reviews, while maintaining strict internal controls and policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a finance partner on major projects, coordinating with project controls, EPC providers and corporate finance.
  • Ability to validate invoices, forecasts, and funding against contracts and budgets.
  • Experience providing financial dashboards, risk assessments and decision materials for governance reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, and EPC to align finances.
  • Review EPC forecast/funding requirements and ensure alignment with contract terms.
  • Validate contractor invoices, progress billings, and milestone payments.
  • Identify cost, schedule, and cash flow risks and escalate to leadership.
  • Provide independent financial analysis to support project investment decisions.

As a trusted Finance business partner for Natrium Project, this role is a financial liaison between the project team, EPC provider, and corporate finance. This role provides ongoing financial oversight to ensure project funding aligns with budget, supports decision-making ahead of financial commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, and the EPC provider to ensure financial alignment throughout project execution.
  • Review and challenge EPC forecast and funding requirements.
  • Validate contractor invoices, progress billings, and milestone payments in accordance with contract terms.
  • Identify emerging cost, schedule, and cash flow risks and escalated issues to executive leadership.
  • Provide independent financial analysis to support project investment and funding decisions.
  • Coordinate funding requests and ensure timely availability of capital to support project execution.
  • Provide financial oversight of project budgets, commitments, contingencies, and forecast accuracy.
  • Review contractor invoices and major payment requests for contractual and financial compliance.
  • Support executive governance reviews by preparing financial dashboards, risk assessments, and decision materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, internal controls, delegated authorities, and capital governance processes.

WY Finance Support:

  • Work with project controls (cost and schedule) and handle some contract-related elements under DOE guidance
  • Real-timeproject costreporting from the field tomain office
  • Track contract-related costsand prepare related reports
  • Monitor supplier’s efficiency and engineering deliverables
  • Assist ConstructionDirector in budget allocationsandmanagement of cost code structures
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare accounting memo on major project agreements
  • Enhanceexistingcost trackingproceduresand seek opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop good workingrelationshipswith internal/external stakeholders;regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across accounting and treasury function
  • Prepare project cost analysis to measure andmonitorproject financial performance
  • Develop, implement, andmaintaininternal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform onsite support on fixed assets tracking
  • Perform variance analysis between budget and actual costs and communicate findings to project leadership
  • Monitor contract commitment, change orders, and financial implications

Options for consideration.

  • Extract, review, and compile supporting documentation, including travel receipts, subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, required to support government invoices.
  • Prepare, validate, and issue government invoices in accordance with contract terms and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance requirements.
  • Identify and flag unallowable costs in accordance with government regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of government accounting policies and procedures when responding to written and verbal inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and reconcile subcontractor invoices to verify costs, contract compliance, and proper coding before processing for payment.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports and identify trends or recurring payment issues including short-pay resolution and tracking; Monitor aging receivables and assist with collection efforts when necessary.
  • Review inbound receivables and remittance documentation received from subcontractors.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, shortages, and overpayments.
  • Verify billing accuracy and ensure payments are applied correctly
  • Prepare financial and profitability analyses as requested by management.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and support timely collections.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, regularly partnering with business owners and management to resolve accounting and financial matters.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations, improve reporting processes, accuracy, efficiency, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audits and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and contractual requirements.

Salary Range: $130,131- $169,002
