Job summary

The City of Rock Island is seeking a seasonal lifeguard to ensure patron safety on land and water. You will recognize emergencies, enforce facility rules, perform daily inspections, and complete required reports while working with a team of staff.

Must maintain fitness and participate in in-service training, with training hours possibly required before the season begins. This hourly position runs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

• Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures.

For Whitewater Junction Lifeguard: This is seasonal, hourly work related to the Whitewater Junction facility. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend (May) through Labor Day Weekend (September). Training hours before may be required.
