You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with ad sales, design, and editorial teams to maintain the FMG voice and sponsor goals.

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of professional writing/editing experience, with a B2B focus in fashion apparel, retail, beauty, or related segments.
  • Ability to distill market trends and sponsor needs under tight deadlines.
  • Strong editorial judgment and organizational skills.

Associate Editor, Branded Content

The leading source of fashion news, Fairchild Media Group’s WWD, is hiring an Associate Editor, Branded Content. The Associate Editor, Branded Content role in FMG’s custom content studio sits at the intersection of high-end journalism and strategic marketing. The Associate Editor will write, edit, and oversee custom cross-platform content, including native articles, and multimedia series (social, podcast, etc.), and authoritative, industry-themed white papers and comprehensive market reports. This role focuses on conceptualizing data-driven narratives, conducting deep-dive industry research, synthesizing complex market trends, and collaborating with interal and external teams to translate insights into impactful thought leadership pieces on behalf of FMG global advertising partners across all endemic and non-endemic categories—all aligning with the FMG authoritative voice while meeting client commercial goals.

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely, with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities
  • Write and edit engaging, high-quality sponsored content including native articles and stories, research reports, multimedia content hubs, video, podcasts and social.
  • Content will be focused on, but not limited to, thought leadership and consumer insights around fashion apparel, retail, beauty, luxury goods, accessories, textiles, as well as the technologies that support these segments.
  • Source interviews, conduct market research, and identify industry trends, such as changes in consumer behavior, emerging technologies such as generative AI, and the impact of macro-economic forces on business.
  • Understand and protect the editorial integrity and sophisticated aesthetic and standards of the Fairchild brands while satisfying sponsor messaging objectives.
  • Partner closely with ad sales, marketing design, and FMG brand editorial teams to pitch and execute campaigns; Lead the creative editorial vision for each project in collaboration with all teams
  • Manage timelines, asset delivery, and revision cycles for multiple custom content projects simultaneously.
  • Apply SEO best practices and analyze engagement metrics to report on content performance and audience retention.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional writing/editing experience, specifically with B2B focus within the fashion apparel, retail, beauty, and related segments
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to distill market trends, assess the content needs of sponsors and work under strict deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage several projects at once and work under tight deadlines.
  • Well-versed in digital strategy, analytics, and SEO best practices
  • A passion for fashion apparel, retail, beauty, and technology

A good faith estimate of the salary range is $70k - $80,000 upon hire. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors).
