Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license in Texas.
  • Approximately 6+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Experience with municipal water and wastewater infrastructure design.
  • Working knowledge of project delivery, design standards, permitting, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project delivery in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience working with municipalities, water districts, or public sector clients preferred.

  • Participate in client meetings, project status updates, and design coordination meetings.
  • Assist with construction phase services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field observations.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal input, project approach development, and client relationship support.
  • Mentor junior engineers and EITs by providing technical guidance and review.

Job description

STV is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Water practice in Waco, Texas. This role is ideal for a licensed PE with approximately 6+ years of experience who is ready to take the next step in project management while continuing to contribute technically to municipal water and wastewater projects. The selected candidate will support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment, conveyance, lift stations, pump stations, pipelines, and related civil infrastructure. This position will work closely with senior project managers and technical leaders while assisting with client coordination, design oversight, schedule management, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Serve as a technical lead or design engineer on water/wastewater projects, including pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, treatment facilities, and utility improvements.

  • Familiarity with TCEQ requirements and Texas municipal utility standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling, or related design software.
  • Interest in growing into a full Project Manager role.

Compensation Range: $89,487.93 - $102,271.92
