Job summary

Education Alliance AmeriCorps Mentor is seeking part-time members to provide weekly mentoring to at-risk students in West Virginia, helping them improve attendance, behavior and course performance.

Members work with community volunteers to offer job-shadowing, extended learning opportunities, and skills development in note taking, time management and study habits while supporting the school community.

Qualifications

• Weekly mentoring sessions to at-risk students in grades 2-12.
• Help students develop positive attitudes towards school and learning.
• Coordinate with community volunteers to engage students in job-shadowing and extended learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly mentoring sessions to at-risk students.
• Support students with note taking, time management and study skills.
• Collaborate with volunteers and partner organizations to create learning opportunities.
