Job summary

A local tutoring organization is seeking experienced writing tutors for one-on-one sessions with K–12 students in Snoqualmie and surrounding areas. This part-time position allows tutors to choose their own hours, with most sessions occurring after school and on weekends. Position Overview

Cascade Enrichment is seeking experienced, dependable writing tutors to work one-on-one with K–12 students in the student’s home. Tutors travel to students’ homes within the community, create a supportive and encouraging learning environment, and partner with families to help students build confidence, strengthen writing skills, and express ideas clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, engaging writing instruction tailored to each student’s needs
• Support students with:
  • Sentence structure and paragraph development
  • Organization and clarity of ideas
  • Grammar, mechanics, and revision strategies
  • Academic and school-based writing assignments
  • Middle school, high school, and college application essays
• Travel to students’ homes for scheduled tutoring sessions
• Create a positive, respectful, and motivating learning environment
• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and areas of growth
• Maintain professionalism in students’ homes and in the community
• Follow Cascade Enrichment policies and expectations

Scheduling

• Part-time, hourly position
• Tutors choose their own availability

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong background in writing, English, education, or a related field (college-level coursework or equivalent experience)
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred
• Experience supporting school-based writing and/or college essays strongly preferred
• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions
• Professional communication and time-management skills
• Ability to pass a background check
