The Writing Specialist helps students and the Centers for Academic Success Coordinator by offering one-on-one tutoring, coordinating services and projects, providing administrative support, and guiding less experienced staff.

They assist in researching best practices, developing teaching materials for multiple learning styles, conducting college and community outreach fairs and workshops, and tracking usage data to inform improvements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a writing-intensive discipline or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–2 years of experience providing writing support, tutoring, academic support, or related educational services.

Responsabilidades

• Work one-on-one with any member of the CSN community who would like to discuss their written work and help establish a personal writing process.
• Assist the campus coordinator in researching and implementing best practice trends, guide less experienced staff, develop teaching materials, and conduct outreach fairs and workshops.
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling, payroll verification, and data tracking, and report to the coordinator daily and weekly.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, CAPE Sessions, and conferences.
