Job summary

ReNEW Schools seeks a head coach to organize and supervise a comprehensive high school sports program. The role requires prior coaching success in the assigned sport and deep knowledge of technical aspects, while serving as a positive role model for student athletes.

The position collaborates with an athletic director for objectives and evaluations, guiding a staff of high school coaches and ensuring program quality and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continue to examine new theories.
• The head coach must be a role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Established the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff. Designs conferences, clinics and staff meetings to insure staff awareness of overall program.
• Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance.
• Delegates duties, supervises implementation and evaluates assistants.
• Maintains discipline, adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation.
• Performs such other duties as assigned by athletic director/principal.
