Job summary

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is seeking a Wrestling Coach stipend position to instruct athletes in fundamentals, strategy and training, fostering discipline and sportsmanship. The role emphasizes student growth in academics and character alongside athletic achievement.

The coach will supervise practices, ensure eligibility, maintain safety, and communicate with the Athletic Director, administrators, parents, and players.

Qualifications

• Must be CPR certified.
• Preferred to be employed as a teacher in CL D47.
• Knowledge of sport's technical aspects and coaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the overall supervision of the wrestling program.
• Know, understand and implement IESA and league rules; attend rules clinic.
• Verify each athlete's academic and medical eligibility.
• Supervise practices and contests in a safe manner.
• Supervise athletes after practice and games until departure.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
• Manage uniforms, equipment and facilities; report defects.
• Notify Athletic Director of equipment needs annually.
• Foster sportsmanship, teamwork and responsibility.
• Build relationships with parents and other coaches; communicate with stakeholders.
• Follow FERPA rules and athletic handbook parameters.

Job description

< p>Wrestling Coach stipend position avaialable. The goals of this position are to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the overall supervision of his/her program
• Responsible for knowing, understanding and implementing the IESA and Fox Valley Conference and any supplementary rules imposed by the school and attending the mandatory rules clinic and coaches meetings. Must be certified in CPR
• Responsible for verifying each athlete's academic and medical eligibility
• Supervise and conduct practices and contests in a safe manner
• Supervise all athletes after practice and games until they leave the school grounds
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Manage uniforms, equipment and facilities in a responsible manner-return them in good conditional minus normal wear and tear and notify the Athletic Director immediately of any defective or damaged equipment
• Notify the Athletic Director of annual equipment needs
• Work toward building and teaching good sportsmanship, cooperative work ethic and responsibility
• Work toward establishing relationships with parents and other coaches
• Communicate with the Athletic Director, administrators, coaches, players, and parents
• Follow concession protocol and report all injuries to administrator, nurse, and parent
• Administrative Duties:
• Provide team rules and practice schedules to athletes and parents
• Provide accurate rosters available for the Athletic Director, Administration, and office personnel
• Submit an eligibility report and keep emergency cards on athletes with you at all times
• Submit an end of the season report to include
• Team records, standings and individual awards
• Uniform and equipment inventory
• Obligations for lost or missing uniforms and equipment
• Communicate and promote sport throughout season via various modes of communication
• Adhere to all rules/regulations relating to Family Education Rights Privacy Act (FERPA)
• Adhere to parameters established in D47 athletic handbook

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid PEL
• Employed as a teacher in CL D47
• Must have knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and be willing to continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, any and all body movements as related to the job description
