Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking a Wrestling Coach at Slauson Middle School to manage practice sessions, coach wrestlers, and support athletic programs on site. This role reports directly to the Athletic Director and participates in clinics and policy adherence.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with coaching experience preferred, and eligibility to obtain CPR/First Aid when needed; the role emphasizes collaboration with staff, parents, and students.

Qualifications

  • Education and experience requirements listed: high school diploma or equivalent; one year of high school coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques of the sport.
  • Ability to obtain CPR / First Aid / Lifeguard Certification when applicable.
  • Ability to work effectively with coaching staff, parents and school staff.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with M.H.S.A.A. policies and district policies.
  • Maintains consistent communication with Athletic Director.
  • Develops positive self-image with athletics.
  • Attends clinics / workshops related to sport.
  • Uses sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques.
  • Demonstrates public support and loyalty for coaches.
  • Demonstrates positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
  • Manages pre-contest details effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
