FOREST PARK HIGH in Forest Park, GA is seeking a Lay Coach - Wrestling Assistant Coach to support the head coach in delivering safe, engaging wrestling instruction for K-12 athletes. The role focuses on supervision, skill development, and program leadership under the Head Coach.

The position is part-time with a stipend; candidates must complete GHSA required coaching exams within three months and meet GHSA rules.

Qualifications

• GHSA coaching exams (Prepare/First Aid and Principles for Coaching) within 3 months of class date.
• Must be 21 years of age or older as per GHSA guidelines.
• Ability to manage projects and duties with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Georgia High School Association Coaching exam required.
• Analytical: emphasize safety precautions and injury prevention.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and coaches K-12 students on fundamentals of sports.
• Works with coaching staff to set rules, policies and regulations for the team.
• Assists Head Coach with equipment issuance and coordinating try-outs.
• Assists with practice scheduling and supervision of athletes and teams.
• Encourages student athletes to participate at an appropriate level.
• Coordinates with staff and partners to monitor delivery and healthy lifestyles.
• All other duties as assigned to support the program.
• Supports supervision of athletes, equipment and staff as needed.
