Job summary

Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, IL is seeking an Assistant Coach - Wrestling for a 2 FTE position for the 2026-2027 school year. You will assist the Head Coach to provide a competitive athletic environment that inspires student athletes and fosters academic achievement.

The role requires IHSA Coaching Certification and a commitment to school spirit, sportsmanship, and district policies. You will report to the building leadership and collaborate with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• IHSA coaching certification and compliance with IHSA rules
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Willingness to coordinate with school staff and parents

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Head Coach as to role, duties and expectations.
• Help supervise the issuance and collection of equipment.
• Supervise practice, contest and locker room facilities and athlete transportation.
• Complete necessary paperwork on time.
• Promote and publicize team achievements to media and school.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to athletes.
