Job summary

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is seeking an assistant coach to collaborate with the Head Coach and build an athletic program that inspires student athletes. You will help supervise equipment, oversee practices and contests, and ensure safe, respectful conduct both on and off the field.

The role requires communicating clearly with athletes, parents and media, promoting school spirit and academic achievement.

Qualifications

• IHSA Coaching Certification including IHSA safety modules.
• Strong communication with Head Coach and staff.
• Ability to read and interpret school and IHSA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Head Coach as to role, duties and expectations.
• Help supervise the issuance and collection of equipment.
• Supervise practice, contest and locker room facilities and transportation of athletes to and from practice and contests.
• Complete necessary paperwork on time.
• Promote and publicize team and individual achievement to the media and school.
• Ensure compliance with IHSA rules and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents and media.
• Be punctual and professional.
