Job summary

Responsibilities include assisting the head coach after school and on weekends, coaching student athletes, and maintaining safety and integrity of the program. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and wrestling/coaching experience preferred; CPR/First Aid with WIAA compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wrestling rules and coaching techniques.
• Ability to develop student athletes and apply game strategy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coaches and administrators.
• Professional relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide age- and skill-appropriate training and instruction to develop student skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and self-esteem.
• Teach rules, safety and a variety of guidance and experiences to support holistic development.
• Promote participation in multiple sports and positive attitudes.
• Supervise student behavior and maintain discipline per district policies.
• Assist in scheduling practices, meetings, games and related logistics.
• Ensure safety and provide first aid or refer when needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
• Attend meetings, clinics and workshops.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or its equivalent

Formal training in the specific sport per WIAA requirements including CPR/First Aid
