Job description

The Barbara J. Hart Justice Center, a project of WRC, is seeking a motivated staff attorney to join our team of attorneys dedicated to eliminating domestic violence and sexual abuse through advocacy, education, and systemic change. The qualified attorney will represent survivors in civil legal matters including custody, divorce, spousal and child support, PFA's, housing matters, etc. Staff attorneys are trained in the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, and will provide high-quality representation through a trauma-informed lens. Attorneys are expected to work collaboratively as well as individually.

This position is ideal for a newly barred attorney or an experienced attorney who wants to focus on Family Law matters. Upon joining our team of attorneys, our experienced staff attorneys will provide mentorship and training opportunities to the newly hired attorney in a supportive team environment. The attorney will have the opportunity to build confidence as a litigator through hands-on experience in court. This position is a great opportunity to learn from experienced attorneys while making an important difference in the lives of clients who cannot afford access to legal representation.

Qualifications:

PA Bar License in good standing;
Strong written and oral communication skills;
ability to represent in both Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties;
Strong ability to work both independently and part of a collaborative team;
Commitment to advocating for vulnerable populations with compassion and integrity
