Job summary

SCN BestCo is seeking a machine operator for the 3rd shift (10pm–6am) in North Carolina. The role involves following batch records, loading/wrapping candy, starting and monitoring wrap machines, and ensuring material supply to meet production targets.

You will adhere to cgmp and LOTO policies while maintaining safety and quality standards. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are physically capable of lifting up to 35 lbs, and possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Fully responsible for following batch records and completing reports accurately.
• Visually inspect machine for loose or broken parts and ensure it turns smoothly before starting.
• Load and thread wrapping material as indicated on the production schedule; startup wrapping machine.
• Coordinate with Material Handler to ensure continued supply of candy and wrap materials to meet production targets.
• Monitor wrap quality every 5–10 minutes to ensure correct cut-off lengths.
• Maintain full operational knowledge of the wrapping machine and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Follow LOTO policies to isolate energy sources during cleaning or maintenance.
• Report mechanical problems to supervisor or maintenance.
• Disassemble and clean wrapping machines and keep the area clean at all times.
• Adhere to cgmp rules in daily duties; perform any other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Fully responsible for following batch records and completing reports accurately
• Visually inspect machine for loose or broken parts, then turn machine over by hand, making sure machine will turn over freely before starting machine
• Load and thread proper wrapping material as indicated on production schedule
• Startup the wrapping machine with proper setting
• Work with Material Handler to ensure machine is continually supplied with candy and twist wrap in order to meet production target
• Check quality of wrap every 5 to 10 minutes to monitor correct cut-off lengths of wrapping material
• Have full operational knowledge of wrapping machine and be able to adjust minor mechanical faults
• Follow SCN BestCo’s LOTO Policy and procedures to ensure that machines or equipment are isolated from all potentially hazardous energy before performing cleaning, service or maintenance activities where they may be an unexpected energization, start-up, or release of stored energy.
• Report mechanical problems to supervisor and/or maintenance
• Disassemble and clean all wrapping machines
• Keep area clean at all times
• Follow cGMP rules while performing daily functions
• Any other duties that may be assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Willing and able to clean and sanitize machines
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
• Must be open to work any shift that is necessary depending on the business needs, including overtime
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Basic computer knowledge (must be able to log on and complete required cGMP SOP training and email

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 6 months of machine operator experience
• Prior pharmaceutical industry experience
• Prior Manufacturing experience
• FDA experience
• Certified Production Technician through NCMI
