Job summary

SCN BestCo is seeking a 3rd shift machine operator in North Carolina to manage wrapping operations for candy products. You will follow batch records, inspect and start machines, thread materials, and coordinate with the Material Handler to meet daily targets.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, reliable, and able to lift up to 35 lbs, with cgmp awareness and willingness to work any shift, including overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing and able to clean and sanitize machines.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
• Able to work any shift including overtime as needed.
• Stand for long periods and have basic computer knowledge for SOP training and email.

Responsibilities

• Fully responsible for following batch records and completing reports accurately.
• Visually inspect machine and ensure it turns over freely before starting.
• Load and thread wrapping material per production schedule.
• Startup the wrapping machine with proper setting.
• Work with Material Handler to ensure continuous supply and meet production targets.
• Check wrap quality every 5–10 minutes for correct cut-off lengths.
• Maintain operational knowledge of wrapping machine and adjust minor faults.
• Follow LOTO policy and cgmp SOPs during cleaning, service, or maintenance.
• Report mechanical problems to supervisor or maintenance.
• Disassemble and clean wrapping machines; keep area clean.
• Follow cgmp rules; perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Fully responsible for following batch records and completing reports accurately
• Visually inspect machine for loose or broken parts, then turn machine over by hand, making sure machine will turn over freely before starting machine
• Load and thread proper wrapping material as indicated on production schedule
• Startup the wrapping machine with proper setting
• Work with Material Handler to ensure machine is continually supplied with candy and twist wrap in order to meet production target
• Check quality of wrap every 5 to 10 minutes to monitor correct cut-off lengths of wrapping material
• Have full operational knowledge of wrapping machine and be able to adjust minor mechanical faults
• Follow SCN BestCo’s LOTO Policy and procedures to ensure that machines or equipment are isolated from all potentially hazardous energy before performing cleaning, service or maintenance activities where they may be an unexpected energization, start-up, or release of stored energy.
• Report mechanical problems to supervisor and/or maintenance
• Disassemble and clean all wrapping machines
• Keep area clean at all times
• Follow cGMP rules while performing daily functions
• Any other duties that may be assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Willing and able to clean and sanitize machines
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to35 lbs.
• Must be open to work any shift that is necessary depending on the business needs, including overtime
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Basic computer knowledge (must be able to log on and complete required cGMP SOP training and email

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

• 6 months of machine operator experience
• Prior pharmaceutical industry experience
• Prior Manufacturing experience
• FDA experience
• Certified Production Technician through NCMI
