WR Kinders Camp Assistant Teacher (Temporary, Part-time)

Position Overview

World Relief Western Washington is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to support our summer camp program for young children. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with lead teachers to facilitate engaging activities, supervise children, and support classroom and outdoor activities.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist classroom teachers with setup, cleanup, and activity facilitation.
  2. Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, and mealtimes.
  3. Support positive behavior and communicate with parents and caregivers.
  4. Lead simple games and outdoor activities.
  5. Help organize field trips and outdoor events.
  6. Build rapport with students and provide individual support as needed.
  7. Support volunteers and parent engagement efforts.
  8. Communicate proactively with team members and supervisors.
  9. Assist with transportation and administrative tasks, including assessments and paperwork.
  10. Maintain a clean and safe environment for children and staff.
  11. Participate in team meetings and adhere to organizational policies.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience working with young children or related college coursework.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • King County Food Worker Card.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive families as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings.
Preferred Skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with flexibility.
  • Language skills in Dari, Ukrainian, Swahili, Arabic, or Spanish are a plus.
Compensation

$23.50 - $24.20 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits and employee discounts available.
