Deborah in New Jersey is seeking a Clinical Wound/Nurse Specialist to support staff and physicians in wound, ostomy, and continence care. You will assess and optimize care plans, collaborating with the nursing team to enhance patient outcomes.
The role requires extensive nursing experience in wound management, licensure in NJ, and WOCN certification, with a supportive benefits package and a day shift.
Provides clinical nursing support to staff and physicians in the care of patients with wound, ostomy and continence needs. Critically analyzes the effectiveness of wound care regimens, patient care systems, and interdisciplinary care plans to maximize the effectiveness of care. Works collaboratively with primary nursing staff to facilitate appropriate care for patients; serves as an expert in the assessment and management of complex wounds and provides support on a regular and consultative basis.
Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience required; preceptor, team leader, charge, or supervisory experience preferred; a minimum of 2 years experience in ostomy/wound management preferred.
Successful completion of an accredited wound/ostomy education program; Graduate of accredited diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree nursing program.
NJ State Nursing License; BLS -C certification, Certification in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing (WOCN).
Must be flexible and adaptable to a wide variety of clinical situations and settings; must have excellent organizational and time management skills; excellent critical thinking and problem resolution skills; excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
Regular internal and/or external contacts requiring tact and discretion in obtaining and exchanging information.
Provides consultative supervision to physicians, nurses, and other direct providers in the management of wounds, ostomies, continence problems, and in conditions of high risk for skin impairment.
