Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with wound care expertise to join our inpatient or long-term care team. You will manage wounds, perform skin assessments, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care plan team to develop and adjust treatment plans.
The role involves educating residents and families, maintaining documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance while minimizing patient discomfort and promoting dignity.
• Assess, manage, and treat wounds, pressure injuries, skin tears, ulcers, and other dermatologic conditions
• Complete comprehensive skin assessments and quarterly dermatologic evaluations
• Develop individualized treatment plans with physicians, Medical Director, Director of Nursing, therapy, dietary, and the Interdisciplinary Care Plan Team
• Provide accurate written and verbal reports on resident progress and wound healing
• Monitor wound healing, update care plans, and recommend treatment modifications
• Ensure pressure injury prevention interventions, including repositioning, nutrition support, skin protection, special mattresses, and nutritional supplements
• Provide direct nursing care during emergencies while promoting resident comfort and dignity
• Educate residents and families on wound prevention and treatment plans
• Participate in staff education, orientation, ongoing training, and wound-care in-service training
• Monitor wound-care supplies and equipment inventory
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with federal, state, local, corporate, and facility regulations
• Protect resident privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance
• Report resident concerns, suspected abuse, safety issues, occupational exposures, information security concerns, significant condition changes, and treatment-related risks
• Communicate with residents, families, physicians, healthcare providers, nursing staff, and consultants regarding care and treatment
• Carry out physician orders, including medication and treatment
• Assist physicians and healthcare providers during visits and examinations
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections as requested
• Assist with overall supervision of nursing staff
• Report to and work directly under the Director of Nursing
Demonstrates expertise in wound care management, including assessment, treatment planning, and monitoring of wound healing. Maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and provides education to residents and families on wound prevention and care.
