Advantage Surgical and Wound Care has an exciting opportunity for a Full or Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-4 days/week) to work in the East Bay-Freemont/Walnut Creek, CA areas. Qualified candidates will round at multiple facilities within a designated territory. We are seeking Medical Doctors (MD or DO) to join our progressive medical practice.

Our experienced medical providers perform rounds in Skilled Nursing Facilities, providing wound care to residents in post-acute rehab settings, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term acute care hospitals.

Qualifications

• Active state medical license (MD/DO)
• Board Certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine)
• General Practitioners welcome to apply
• Valid state driver’s license

Duties

• Weekday commitment: No call, evenings, or weekends
• Deliver wound care at the bedside in the post-acute care setting
• Round daily at multiple facilities
• No supervisory responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, considering factors that increase wound formation risk
• Collaborate with facility staff to develop effective wound care plans
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate dressings
• Educate nursing staff and communicate with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams
• Order medications and provide clear usage instructions
• Provide quality care to the Geriatric patient population
