Job summary

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care is seeking a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to support post-acute care across a designated territory in Lewiston, ME. You will round at multiple facilities and deliver bedside wound care without supervision shifts.

Qualified candidates include Medical Doctors (MD/DO) with a valid state license; board certification is preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine). General practitioners are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop care plans.

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care has an exciting opportunity for aPart-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to work in the Lewiston, MEarea. Qualified candidates will round at multiple facilities that are located within a designated territory. We are currently seeking Medical Doctors (MD or DO) to join our progressive medical practice.

Qualifications:

• Active state medical license (MD/DO)
• Board Certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine)
• General Practitioners welcome to apply
• Valid state driver’s license

Duties:

• Weekday commitment: No call, evenings, or weekends
• Deliver wound care at the bedside in the post-acute care setting.
• Round daily at multiple facilities
• No supervisory commitment

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, paying special attention to factors that increase the risk of wound formation.
• Collaborate with facility staff to ensure an effective wound care plan.
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate wound dressings.
• Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
• Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
• Provide quality patient care to the Geriatric patient population.
