Advantage Surgical and Wound Care is seeking a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-3 days/week) to serve the Augusta, ME region. You will round at multiple facilities within a designated territory and provide bedside wound care in post-acute settings.

The ideal candidate holds an MD or DO with an active license; board certification is preferred. No on-call duties, with competitive compensation and full administrative support.

Qualified candidates will round at multiple facilities that are located within a designated territory. We are currently searching for Medical Doctors (MD or DO) to join our progressive medical practice.

Qualifications

• Active state medical license (MD/DO)
• Board Certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine)
• General Practitioners welcome to apply
• Valid state driver’s license

Duties

• Weekday commitment: No call, evenings, or weekends
• Deliver wound care at the bedside in the post-acute care setting.
• Round daily at multiple facilities
• No supervisory commitment

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, paying special attention to factors that increase the risk of wound formation.
• Collaborate with facility staff to ensure an effective wound care plan.
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate wound dressings.
• Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
• Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
• Provide quality patient care to the Geriatric patient population.
