Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS

The Part-time Wound Care Nurse will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with various types of wounds. This includes providing specialized care to promote healing and prevent infections, working closely with a multidisciplinary team, and educating patients and their families on wound care management. The role is flexible, offering the opportunity to work as needed to support the clinic's patient care efforts.

Responsibilities




Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wounds, considering patient history and current medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical evaluations.
  • Administer appropriate treatments, including dressing changes, compression therapy, and debridement.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement effective wound care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques, home care guidelines, and preventive measures.

  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients receive high-quality, compassionate care.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all visits, treatments, and outcomes.

  • Report any changes in patient conditions or treatment responses to the healthcare team promptly.

  • Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, including maintaining safety and infection control standards.

  • Stay informed about the latest wound care practices and technologies.

Qualifications




Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
2. BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
3. ACLS within 30 days of hire.
4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
5. Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
