Job summary

Desort in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse to join its clinical team. This full-time role focuses on comprehensive wound assessments, individualized care plans, and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires RN licensure in California, BLS/CPR and ACLS, with extensive wound care experience and CWCN/CWOCN credentials, plus strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Nursing.
• Active California Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Extensive professional experience in wound care.
• Wound care certification such as CWCN or CWOCN.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of wounds and skin integrity.
• Develop and implement individualized wound care plans.
• Provide appropriate wound treatments based on clinical assessment and established protocols.
• Monitor wound healing and modify care recommendations as needed.
• Document assessments, treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately.
• Identify potential complications and communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding wound prevention, treatment, and ongoing care.
• Provide guidance and clinical support to nursing staff regarding wound management.
• Promote effective pressure injury prevention and skin care practices.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with applicable nursing standards, policies, and regulations.
