Job summary

Regency at Troy is seeking a Wound Care Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care programs for residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will promote skin health, prevent pressure injuries, and serve as a clinical resource and educator for residents, families, and staff.

The role includes leadership of the treatment team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing expert wound care guidance to improve outcomes across the facility.

Qualifications

  • Active RN or LPN license in Michigan.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current Wound Care certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Treatment Nurse as per scope of practice.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work to meet resident needs and staff capabilities.
  • Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety.
  • Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
  • Transfers employees among units per staffing demands.
  • Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff.
  • Oversees unit operations during absence of higher-level management.
  • Use independent judgment in accordance with policies and laws.

The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound care treatment programs for residents within the skilled nursing facility. This role ensures compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations while promoting optimal skin health, healing, and prevention of pressure injuries and other wounds. The Wound Care Nurse serves as a clinical resource, educator, and advocate for residents, families, and staff regarding wound prevention and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety
  • Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed
  • Transfers employees among units per staffing demands
  • Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff
  • Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns
  • Oversee unit operations during absence of higher-level management
  • Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
Education and/or Experience:
  • At least two years' experience working in Wound Care preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with required state licensure.
  • Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Current Wound Care certification required
