Ciena Healthcare in Detroit, MI is seeking a Wound Care Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care programs for residents in our skilled nursing facility. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting skin health and preventing pressure injuries.

The position emphasizes clinical leadership, education for families and staff, and advocacy for residents. Eligible candidates must hold an active nursing license and wound care certification, with CPR

Qualifications

• Two years' wound care experience preferred.
• Current RN or LPN licensure in applicable state.
• Current CPR certification (or CPR within 90 days of employment).
• Current Wound Care certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Treatment Nurse as per scope of practice.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities.
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety.
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands.
• Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff.
• Oversee unit operations during absence of higher-level management.
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

The Wound Care Nurse serves as a clinical resource, educator, and advocate for residents, families, and staff regarding wound prevention and management.

Education and/or Experience

• At least two years' experience working in Wound Care preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with required state licensure.
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
• Current Wound Care certification required
