Job summary

Florence Home in Omaha seeks a Wound Care Nursing Partner with LTC experience to train staff on wound care policies and procedures. The role includes updating policies and educating staff, volunteers, residents and families while ensuring proper documentation and skin assessments.

Bi-weekly rounds with the NP wound care provider and on-call coverage on weekends are required. This position emphasizes compassionate care for elderly residents within a person-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in a long-term care facility.
• RN licensed in Nebraska or compact state with LTC experience.
• Specialty training in wound care or willing to obtain certification within 6 months.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Demonstrates compassion for elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and document training of staff in wound care policies and procedures.
• Update wound care policies.
• Educate staff, volunteers, residents and families on wound care.
• Audit wounds and skin assessments for proper treatment and documentation.
• Round bi-weekly with NP wound care nurse provider.
• Provide reports for QAPI regarding wounds.
• Identify areas for improvement.
• Take weekend on-call as assigned. Rotating schedule.

Shifts:

• 8a-4:30p (Full-Time)

Our Wound Care Nursing Partners will:

• Instruct and document training of staff in policy and procedures pertinent to wound care.


• Update wound care policies


• Educate staff, volunteers, residents and families on wound care.


• Audit wounds routinely to ensure proper treatment and documentation and skin assessments have been completed


• Round bi-weekly with NP wound care nurse provider


• Provide reports for QAPI regarding wounds.


• Identify areas for improvement


• Take weekend on call clinical/staffing as assigned. Rotating schedule

We require our Wound Care Nursing Partners to:

• Have previous experience in a long-term care facility required


• Have an RN in the State of Nebraskaor acompact state with at least one year nursing experience in a LTC facility preferred


• Have specialty training in Wound Care through accredited continuing education. (Incumbents with no previous certification will have up to six (6) months from their start date to acquire the appropriate certification.)


• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.


• Possess a love for people-especially the elderly
