Job summary

Bethesda Brings out the Best in Talented, Caring People! Barnes Jewish Extended Care is hiring a Wound Nurse RN/LPN for a full-time day shift (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) with on-call rotation.

You will assess wounds, ostomy and continence needs, and collaborate with physicians to promote healing and prevent complications. Qualified candidates hold an RN or LPN license, CPR/AED, and ideally wound certification, with at least two years of nursing experience, especially in post-acute care.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN or LPN with nursing program graduation.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Wound certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of varied nursing experience, preferably in a post-acute setting.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to stand/walk long periods and lift 200+ lbs with assistance.
• Accurate documentation in Ekare system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessment interviews focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
• Develop and implement care plans to achieve healing goals.
• Review orders and advise physicians and staff to support residents' wound care goals.
• Perform weekly wound documentation with wound physician and Ekare system entries.
• Educate and support families and residents on prevention of complications.
