Registered Wound Care Nurse (RN) (certification provided)

Monday - Friday position (part-time considered)

Position Description:

A Wound Care Nurse plays a crucial role in a skilled rehab nursing home by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of wound care for residents. This position requires a highly skilled and knowledgeable individual who can provide comprehensive wound assessment, treatment, and education to promote optimal wound healing and resident well-being. A Wound Care Nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement effective wound care plans. Additionally, a Wound Care nurse stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in wound care management and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for overseeing the Wound Care Measures
2. Must have up-to-date MMR vaccination & physical
3. Responsible for overseeing the infection control program
4. Communicate changes in residents' conditions to IDT and other partners as appropriate
5. Participate in the on-call rotation with other nursing supervisors
6. Flexible working hours
7. Attend Quality Measures meeting and report on applicable information
8. Attend and prepare for weekly Case Management meetings
9. Includes but not limited to items listed on the Registered Nurse Job Description
10. Ability to educate partners by conducting in-services and one-on-one learning
11. Ability to investigate, track and trend identified areas of opportunities
12. Develop action plans for areas of needed improvement
13. Provide partner support and coaching
14. Passion for wound care and healing residents
15. Passion for infection control measures

Registered Nurse Requirements:

1. A current NYS Registered Nurse license required
2. Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills
3. Excellent time management skills
4. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent communication skills
