Job summary

WoundGen is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner with a focus on wound care to join our clinical team on a per-diem basis. The role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.

You will conduct wound assessments, develop care plans with the Medical Director, and ensure timely EMR documentation while educating patients and caregivers on wound care strategies. Prior wound care experience is preferred, with training available where needed.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Indiana (preferred: Illinois).
• Clinical experience in wound care or related field is preferred but training is available.
• Strong skills in wound debridement and care planning.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical exams and wound assessments for patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Evaluate wound-related conditions and comorbidities to support healing.
• Perform wound debridement and dressing changes per best practices.
• Develop individualized care plans with Medical Director and care team.
• Document encounters, procedures, and communications in the EMR within 24 hours.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care and chronic condition management.
• Communicate with primary care providers and specialists.
• Collaborate with staff and leadership to maintain efficient workflows.
• Participate in clinical meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Advocate for patients to ensure access to care and follow-up services.
• Maintain compliance with clinical, regulatory, and safety standards.
• Stay current with CMS guidelines and documentation requirements.
• Maintain licensure and pursue ongoing education in wound care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
