Job description

As a mobile Wound Care Nurse LPN you play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and preventing various types of wounds. Your specialized training equips you to manage ostomies and continence care. Common complex patient wounds you’ll encounter include ulcers, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds, and skin tears. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assessment: You assess different types of wounds, their healing stages, and early signs of infection.
  • Treatment: Implement appropriate wound care strategies to promote faster healing and minimize complications.
  • Education: Educate patients and their families on proper wound management techniques.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including nurse practitioners, physicians, and therapists.
  • Settings: You will travel to the patients homes and work in the clinics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and Licensure:
  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
  • Passing the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to obtain LPN licensure.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clean Driving Record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical Experience:
  • Prior experience as an LPN is beneficial, especially in areas related to wound care or home health.
  • Familiarity with wound assessment, dressing changes, and wound healing stages.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong assessment skills to evaluate wound status, healing progress, and signs of infection.
  • Knowledge of various wound types (pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, etc.).
