UMMC Midtown Campus, part of the University of Maryland Medical Center, is committed to community health and excellence in patient care. Located in Baltimore’s cultural hub, it is a 144-bed teaching hospital offering extensive outpatient services. Our mission is to partner with patients to achieve optimal health, managing primary care needs and conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and more.

Position: Experienced Certified Wound Care Nurse

Type: Full-time, Days, with a $20,000 Sign-on Bonus

The nurse will demonstrate leadership, advance evidence-based practices, lead governance initiatives, and coach staff. Responsibilities include:

  1. Clinical Practice: Providing independent care, serving as a resource, integrating evidence into practice, and functioning in unit-specific roles.
  2. Service/Quality: Leading quality improvement efforts, monitoring safety standards, and leading research projects.
  3. Unit Operations: Performing charge roles, overseeing orientation, mentoring staff, and promoting a healthy work environment.
  4. Professional Development: Mentoring, coaching, and leading unit development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • RN licensure in Maryland or eligibility through Compact agreements
  • BSN degree required
  • WOCN certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Relevant clinical experience and ongoing education
  • Membership in a professional organization
Additional Requirements
  • Specialty certification or recent relevant education or participation in professional activities
  • Ability to assume a leadership role and work effectively in a team
  • Proficiency in computer systems and patient care principles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Safety & Compensation
  • Ensuring patient safety and reporting risks
  • Pay Range: $36.50-$49.39
  • Additional compensation includes shift differentials and a sign-on bonus
