Demonstrates wound, skin, & ostomy care expertise and clinical leadership. Conducts comprehensive skin, wound, and ostomy assessments and develops plans of care for patients of all age groups. Provides wound, skin, and ostomy education to patients, family members, providers, and all other members of the health care team.
WCC Certification required within six months of hire.
Is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and if necessary, delegating patient care to a specified group of patients. Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals, and other staff to ensure the quality of care given. Provides care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients (as defined in the unit scope of care). Utilizes knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate to the patient’s age to meet their unique physical and psychosocial needs. Involves appropriate parties (e.g., patient’s family or guardian, outside agencies) in assessment, treatment, and continuing care as needed.
Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. BLS trained.
May require lifting up to 35 pounds, pushing, pulling, and moving patients and equipment. Must be able to bend and kneel. Ability to use a computer for periods during the shift, depending on the position.
Reports to the Director of Senior Services.
