Responsibilities

Role Overview:

As a Wound Care Nurse at BrightStar Care of Plano/N. Dallas, you will be responsible for providing high-quality wound care and skilled nursing visits to patients in the Kaufman area. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our dedicated clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and integrate passion with clinical excellence, elevating the care experience for our patients and their families. Your commitment to compassionate care will be supported by flexible scheduling to accommodate your work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct skilled nursing visits to assess, treat, and document patient needs.
2. Provide advanced wound care, including assessment, treatment, dressing changes, and ongoing monitoring.
3. Provide PICC line care and other IV therapy as ordered and within scope of practice.
4. Administer medications as prescribed and provide skilled nursing treatments.
5. Educate patients and their families on wound care, treatment plans, medications, and health management.
6. Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient support.
7. Monitor patients for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical team.
8. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.

Qualifications:

You're a great fit if you have the following skills:

1. Current Texas LVN or RN license.
2. Current CPR certification.
3. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
4. Strong clinical experience with wound care.
5. Experience with PICC line care and IV therapy.
6. Experience with complex or advanced wound care is strongly preferred.
7. A passion for providing high-quality patient care.
8. Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Bonus If You:

1. Have previous home health experience.
2. Possess additional certifications in wound management.
3. Have experience caring for patients with complex wounds, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, or other advanced wound-care needs.
4. Have experience with IV therapy, PICC lines, or other central line care.
