Job summary

St. Tammany Health System seeks qualified professionals to join the wound care team. The role coordinates care for wound care patients discharged from STHS main campus and may involve Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant responsibilities.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating wounds, developing care plans with collaborating physicians, and ordering tests as needed. Office hours are 7am-5pm, Monday–Friday, with a 36-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing or Physician’s Assistant Program.
• Current Louisiana State APRN or PA Licensure.
• Current ACLS certifications through ILCOR-certified courses with manikin check-off.
• Strong computer skills.
• Eligible for limited prescriptive authority in Louisiana.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to be courteous and respectful with patients and families.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain continuing medical education as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant: Diagnose and treat acute or chronic wounds under supervision within outpatient wound care settings; develop and implement care plans with collaborating physicians; may order/interpret labs and imaging; may prescribe medications.
• Coordinate care for wound care patients, ensuring continuity across clinic and facility settings; participate in care planning and follow-up; document in medical records and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
