Rochester Regional Health's Massena Wound Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clerical, administrative, and clinical tasks in primary and specialty care settings. You will work 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, collaborating with physicians and mid-level providers, handling patient check-ins, vitals, and routine procedures.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation and teamwork in a busy outpatient environment.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 6 months of clinical experience as a nursing assistant or related field.
• Ability to file and retrieve patient records.
• Ability to obtain & document patient vitals, weights, etc.

Responsabilidades

• Receives patients and their families and directs them to the appropriate place.
• Answers telephones promptly and politely.
• Schedules appointments
• Files pertinent information within patient’s records
• Obtains insurance prior authorizations
• Inputs charges on patient accounts
• Verifies patient insurance upon registration Billing
• Obtains & documents vital signs on patients
• Acts as a chaperone for the provider when needed
• Obtains & document patient weights
• Assist physician with minor procedures such as suture removal
